The All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Zamfara State has applauded the appeal court for its ruling on Thursday, which removed Governor Dauda Lawal from office. The court ruled that the state’s most recent gubernatorial election was inconclusive and mandated a rerun in three local government districts.
This is stated in a statement provided to journalists in Gusau, the state capital, and signed by Yusuf Idris Gusau, the party’s state publicity secretary.
“We are sure that our stolen mandate will be given back to us soon, proving our claims that the opposition PDP had utilised some erroneous, trigger-happy security guards to prevent the throngs of APC members and supporters from exercising their right to vote,” the statement said.

“We are hopeful that the people’s governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, would return to his rightful position as the Executive Governor of Zamfara State very soon, given the Court of Appeal’s declaration.”
The party interpreted the decision as unequivocal evidence of its steadfast faith in God’s prerogative to bestow or withhold authority.
“We also thank the judiciary for their meticulous work in completing a job well done.
We promise not to let you down, thus we would like to express our gratitude to the electorate as well as our friends and supporters both inside and outside the state who are giving up a lot of their comfort in order to pray for our success.
“We tell our adversaries that God’s timing is always ideal and pledge to keep pushing for peace, harmony, and the great development of Zamfara State.”
It continued, “We therefore call on our members to continue to display high morals and discipline, especially the youth who have remained patient, calm, and law-abiding amidst the intimidation, harassment, threats, and so on.”
