The dethronement of the 14th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, would be reviewed, according to the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP Rabi’u Kwankwaso.
This was stated by Kwankwaso on Saturday in a now-viral video.
In March 2020, Sanusi, who ascended to the throne during Kwankwaso’s final tenure as governor, was deposed by the outgoing governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
He was exiled from Kano and transported to the outlying town of Loko in Nasarawa State.
Ganduje also divided the Emirate into five parts and installed equal-status emirs.
Kwankwao, though, countered, “We have campaigned, and as you know, we are well-liked in Nigeria, particularly in Kano state. We are back, and God willing, we will carry on the wonderful work our administration left behind.
They will be pursued by the incoming governor and his team.
