Yul Edochie, an actor and self-proclaimed cleric, has ignited a new discussion on divorce during a recent interview with White Pearl.

He stressed that marriage should prioritize individual happiness over public opinion.

Edochie advocated for remaining single if it brings happiness.

He expressed, “To me, marriage is not an absolute necessity. If you realize it’s not functioning well, part ways amicably. There’s no need to inflict pain on each other. And if you move on and find someone else you wish to marry, go ahead. If it doesn’t work out, move on. If you find another person, marry again. If it doesn’t work out, move on. You can get married 50 times as long as it brings you joy.

“You cannot dictate how others perceive you. What brings me joy may differ from what brings you joy. Don’t let anyone dictate what’s best for you. Discover what suits you. And if you choose not to marry until the end of your days, go ahead. Be happy.”
