YPP running mate kidnapped, three others freed, and Fulani militia identified as masterminds

Prince Agbor, the Young Progressives Party’s (YPP) deputy governorship candidate, along with three others, have been released, according to Mr. Anthony Bissong, the party’s state chairman in Cross River State.

Two days before the Saturday, March 18, 2023, governorship election, he was abducted.

Agbor was freed on Tuesday, according to a post made by Bissong on his Facebook page.

To commemorate Agbor’s experience in the gloomy world of the kidnappers, Bissong stated book chapters may be written, and he hailed their safe release.

To the praise of God Almighty, I can certify that my brother, a friend, a deputy governorship candidate, and three other people who were abducted on March 16th were freed this morning. I just finished talking to him on the phone.

He said that the kidnapping was carried out by the “dreaded Fulani Militia.”

According to reports, the militiamen have taken control of the woods in the Biase LGA on the pretence of protecting certain mining companies.

“It is crucial and perhaps vital to emphasise that we share Cross River State with the notorious Fulani Militia, who are evil neighbours.

The caravan park in Ibogo serves as a hotspot and research facility where the terrible creatures used to pore through our state’s hidden corners.

“I urge the Cross River State security authorities to deploy and search the whole Biase forest as well as other adjacent LGAs up to the borders with the Republic of Cameroon.

It is believed that a ransom of more than two million Naira was paid to secure their release.

Police officials stated that they did not yet have the information.
