Minister Nyesom Wike responds sharply to Ikenga Ugochinyere, calling him a “political hustler” amid their ongoing political clash.
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has expressed that Ikenga Ugochinyere, a House of Representatives member from Ideato North and South Federal Constituency in Imo State, should be imprisoned for impersonation.
Wike characterized Ugochinyere as a political opportunist attempting to appease his benefactors from Rivers State.
He was responding to the lawmaker’s comment that accused him of engaging in kindergarten and childish politics within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Wike was responding to Ugochinyere’s remarks on Channels TV’s Politics Today last Friday, where he accused Wike and the G-5 governors of attempting to undermine the PDP.
Ugochinyere also accused Wike of engaging in immature and simplistic politics within the PDP.
Through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, he cautioned the lawmaker to cease making baseless allegations against him.

In a statement, Olayinka questioned: “If the PDP had been operating correctly, would Ugochinyere have received the party’s nomination while belonging to another party? Even now, as a PDP representative member, Ugochinyere continues to hold onto his Action Peoples Party (APP) affiliation and is using it for personal gain in Rivers State.”
Hence, we on this side remain unperturbed as we comprehend why Ugochinyere feels compelled to take the stage and accuse Wike of engaging in immature politics. He needs to appease those who are supporting him with resources from Rivers State.
He also ridiculed the lawmaker for constantly having an organization to represent in order to pursue his “political hustle.”
In a more rational environment, such an individual would have faced arrest, trial, and imprisonment for impersonation. Upon reaching the House of Representatives without any official role to sustain his political antics, he self-appointed himself with the fictitious title of ‘Spokesperson of Opposition Lawmakers Coalition in the 10th National Assembly,’ asserting that this appointment came from the Coalition of United Political Parties.
The statement expressed that Ugochinyere, always a political hustler, was aware he would be violating National Assembly rules by assigning himself a non-existent position. However, to sustain his hustle and ensure its success, he felt compelled to adopt a title.
