Following Festus Keyamo’s defeat at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Frank Shaibu, the Special Assistant on Public Communications for Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has urged him to throw his law certificate in the trash. Festus Keyamo was previously the Minister of State for Labour and Employment.
Keyamo’s law degree, according to Shaibu, was useless.
In order to have Atiku arrested and charged with corruption, Keyamo had petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), and other anti-graft organizations before the election.
Keyamo hurriedly filed a lawsuit before the court, seeking an order to require the EFCC and other agencies to act on his petition, because he was eager to please his paymasters and did not want to wait up to three days for them to do so.
Justice James Omotosho dismissed Keyamo’s lawsuit as incompetent on Monday and fined Keyamo N10 million.
Shaibu responded to the development by claiming that Keyamo’s lack of legal ability was demonstrated by the most recent ruling.
Shaibu claimed that the verdict was unequivocal proof that the former minister was merely engaging in cynical politics.
Justice Omotosho has confirmed Keyamo’s incompetence, according to a statement from Shaibu. One is left to wonder how he attained the position of senior advocate. Despite numerous explanations that the accusations made against Atiku were false, Keyamo would not accept logic.
He chose to behave like a political jobber rather than the sophisticated lawyer that would be expected of a senior advocate. He is now embarrassed in front of everyone. This man worked for the illustrious Chief Gani Fwehinmi, right? Why is that?
Given that Keyamo had lost numerous high-profile cases in court while serving as an EFCC prosecutor, Shaibu said Keyamo’s most recent defeat was not unexpected.
“We told Nigerians that the jobless former minister would lose when he filed the frivolous case,” he continued. The prediction was consistent with his prior work as an unsuccessful EFCC prosecutor. We have been proven right today.
He tried to prosecute Governor Timipre Sylva for the EFCC, but he was unsuccessful. He lost as the EFCC’s representative in the fight with Femi Fani-Kayode.
“Keyamo didn’t fare any better, not even in the case he brought against the Lagos State House of Assembly during the Tinubu certificate scandal, marked ID/639M/99. Another dismal failure occurred in the prosecution of Dimeji Bankole, a former speaker of the House of Representatives, for which Keyamo served as lead prosecutor.
“Keyamo established a reputation by routinely bringing frivolous lawsuits to the media’s amusement. He must toss his law degree into the trash so that he can focus on his role as a social media influencer.
