Yoruba Nation: Sunday Igboho refutes any connection to raid on Oyo secretariat
Sunday Igboho, the Yoruba Nation agitator, has distanced himself from the recent invasion of the Oyo state government Secretariat by suspected agitators.
Security officials arrested 16 gunmen who were believed to be members of the Yoruba Nation adherents. These gunmen, dressed in military camouflage, engaged in a gun duel with security officers.
Some of them managed to escape into nearby bushes and forests. They reportedly replaced the Nigerian national flag in the secretariat with the “Oodua nation flag” before security officials intervened.
Igboho, however, denounced the actions of the suspected agitators, stating that he was not aware of and not involved in the invasion.
It is worth noting that Igboho has been out of the country since his late mother’s burial ceremony in February.

Another group, led by Ms. Modupe Onitiri Abiola, wife of late MKO Abiola, was alleged to have carried out the invasion, declaring the “Democratic Republic of Yoruba.”
In a viral video, Ms. Abiola, dressed in a white blouse and headgear, proclaimed the separation of Yoruba from Nigeria.
Igboho’s lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi Esq, affirmed that his client remains committed to non-violence and does not support attacks on government property or individuals.
