A trailer-truck accident on the Potiskum-Nangere route in Yobe State is said to have left 52 people injured and 8 persons dead.
As one of the trucks was taking the tourists to the renowned Potiskum cattle market, it lost control.

The dead have been transported to Potiskum Specialist Hospital, according to an eye witness named Adamu Hassan, while others are still in the General Hospital in Sabon Garin, Nangere as of the time this report was being filled out.
Although the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the state emergency management agency’s staff were seen transferring the casualties to a nearby medical facility, the FRSC’s officials in the state have not yet confirmed the occurrence.
