Yobe sees severe unrest as seven buses are burnt during ongoing protests, heightening the chaos.

On Thursday during the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protests, Potiskum Local Government Area of Yobe State witnessed seven mass transit buses being burnt down.

On Thursday, a conflagration was ignited on the grounds of the Potiskum local government secretariat where buses were parked.

According to a witness who spoke with OBASANJONEWS24 in the North-Eastern state, several individuals attempted to cause chaos but were promptly deterred by security forces.

Dungus Abdulkarim, the spokesperson for Yobe State Police Command verified the occurrence in Potiskum and assured that those responsible would be held accountable.

Starting on Thursday, August 1st, 2024 and spreading throughout all states of the Federation as well as the nation’s capital Abuja until August 10th is a series of nationwide protests against economic hardship that were propagated through social media.
