The Yobe State Government has requested that cooperation with the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, or TETFund, be maintained.
When representatives of the TETFund paid him a courtesy call in his office on Thursday in Damaturu, Governor Mai Mala Buni made the demand.
The Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, acted as the Governor’s representative.
According to a statement made by the SSG’s press secretary, Shuaibu Abdullahi, the Governor praised TETFund for helping state-owned tertiary institutions by providing infrastructure and staff training.
Buni claimed that the Fund’s intervention initiatives had been of immeasurable help in the effort to raise the level of instruction in the State’s institutions.
He said that the State Government has been making every effort to offer the necessary facilities and scholarships, and he added that “the complementary role of TETFund in that direction, is commendable.”
Buni urged the continuation of the cooperative efforts with the goal of improving the State’s education sector.
The TETFund team’s head, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Gamawa, stated in his remarks that they were in the State conducting an evaluation of the State College of Agriculture, Science, and Technology, Gujba.
He said that the actions of the Fund were governed by operating norms, and institutions had to fulfil certain criteria in order to be eligible for TETFund assistance.
