Alh. Abdullahi Mohammed Talio, an African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for governor of Yobe State, has dropped out of the contest.
On Saturday, March 18, 2023, Talio has vowed to back Governor Mai Mala Buni.
Mamman Mohamed, the Governor of Buni’s director general of press and media, revealed this in a message to journalists in Damaturu.
The statement claims that Talio made the announcement of his resignation from the race on Friday after a discussion with Governor Mai Mala Buni, stating that he was inspired to do so by the successes achieved by the Buni-led administration over the previous four years.

Talio declared, “I want to avoid a situation of votes being split, and to provide our support to Governor Buni for a second term of office.
In a same vein, 72 state-wide trade unions and groups have endorsed Governor Buni.
Alh. Umaru Barau, the association’s chairman, claimed that the state government’s empowerment initiatives had given craftspeople in the state sustainable means of subsistence.
