Yakubu should be fired as INEC Chair since he has committed more crimes than Emefiele – Buba Galadima to Tinubu

Buba Galadima, a leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has urged President Bola Tinubu to fire Mahmood Yakubu, the national chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Galadima claimed Yakubu and a few politicians plotted to thwart the will of Nigerians during the most recent presidential election.

In an interview with Channels Television on Tuesday, Galadima claimed that Yakubu’s actions paled in comparison to those of Godwin Emefiele, the previous governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), before he was dismissed.

He emphasized that the INEC director had broken more laws than Emefiele.

Galadima asserts: “The INEC chairman must resign; his actions fall short of those of Godwin Emefiele.

“He conspired with several individuals to thwart Nigerians’ will. The worst crime anyone has ever done was committed by him.

Yakubu was charged with tampering in the 2023 election.

The INEC chairman was accused by some political players of rigging the 2023 presidential election in Tinubu’s favor.
