The All Progressives Congress is not running in Rivers State against the People’s Democratic Party, but rather against the Independent National Electoral Commission and the Police, according to a former minister of transportation by the name of Rotimi Amaechi.
After casting his ballot in Ward 8, Unit 17 in the state’s Ubima Ikwerre Local Government Area, Amaechi addressed the media.
He said that he and others had opposed Yakubu Mahmood, the national chairman of INEC, being reappointed, noting that the latter had been suggested for re-appointment by a member of Bola Tinubu’s campaign for president.

According to him, one cannot anticipate winning the election in such conditions.
“Some of us didn’t want Mohmood to be reappointed. Tinubu’s camp made the nomination on his behalf. So, what are you hoping for? Success?
Mahmood Yakubu Mamood served as the Tertiary Education Trust Fund’s executive secretary here in Rivers State under Wike.
Therefore, instead of running against the PDP in Rivers State, the APC, SDP, and others are running against INEC and the police.
