Yahoo Boy Attempts to Murder Hookup Girl in Abuja Hotel
The NSCDC reveals how a Yahoo boy attempted to murder a hookup girl in an Abuja hotel, shedding light on the shocking incident and investigation.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has detailed how Yahoo Boy, a 30-year-old alleged online scammer, was caught trying to rob and maybe kill a hookup girl at a hotel in Abuja.
Before being apprehended, Joe Efe, the suspect, admitted to seducing and robbing four additional victims he met on dating sites, according to Olusola Odumosu, the FCT Commandant of the NSCDC.
Odumosu, who presented the suspect, stated that Efe was caught in a hotel in Wuse Zone 5 after some officers noticed him closely. He also mentioned that Efe made an attempt to escape after he was said to have left his victim bound in the hotel room.
“When he left the hotel to meet his accomplice, our officers sensed a suspicious activity and apprehended him. He attempted to flee, but we tracked him down and arrested him. When we got back to the hotel, we discovered Olivia, a young woman, was gagged and bound, according to Odumosu.
The Commandant claimed that Efe used dating apps like Badoo, Tinder, and Insta Love to find women and lure them to hotels so he could loot them.

It was said that he lured his most recent victim into the aforementioned hotel after meeting her on the dating app “Coded Runs.”
After completing a thorough investigation, according to Odumosu, it was discovered that Efe had victimized another woman at a different hotel near the Old Federal Secretariat in Area 1 before making his escape from Abuja on Tuesday, September 17.
He said that regrettably, after making his getaway, the obstinate suspect went to another hotel, which he checked into around 2:30 am on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, and invited his most recent victim, who showed there at 9 am, promising to give her N100,000.
Odumosu underlined that the NSCDC operates with professionalism and does not support the distribution of unsubstantiated material to the media. He invited hotel owners to prioritize the protection of their visitors and to be watchful against illegal activities occurring on their premises.
He emphasized that his staff, which he regarded as being quite professional, did not capture or share the footage that is making the rounds on social media in relation to the event.
“Before taking any necessary steps to prosecute or transfer a suspect to the appropriate agency, we are committed to performing our duties with diligence,” he said.
He claims that the episode serves as a sobering reminder of the risks involved with online dating and emphasizes the necessity for users to exercise caution and awareness.
“He used my clothes, a cellotape and a pillowcase to tie me up and threatened to kill me with a poisonous injection if I didn’t comply,” the woman, an Enugu beautician, described her terrifying ordeal.
She remembered how he took away her Android phone and insisted on having access to her mobile banking app, Opay. “He was thinking about what to do next when I was fortunately saved.”
