In the approaching election for governor of Kogi State, Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has accused incumbent Yahaya Bello of pursuing a third term.
Melaye claimed that Bello was running for a third term while posing as Ahmed Ododo, the APC’s nominee for governor.
Melaye claimed Bello was using Ododo to win re-election since he is not eligible to be on the ballot when he spoke on Channels Television on Monday.

Since the departing governor will still be in charge, he insisted that Ododo would only serve as a symbolic leader if elected.
“Don’t let the fact that Yahaya Bello isn’t on the ballot fool you. Ododo is indeed on the ballot, but Yahaya Bello is the one using a proxy to run for a third term.
Melaye stated, “I will not want this debate to be about Yahaya Bello; rather, I would like to promote my political party and market what we have for Kogi State.
