In a sudden assault on Friday, bandits launched an attack that forced the residents of Dan-Ali, a community in Katsina State, to abruptly abandon their Jummat prayers as heavy gunfire erupted throughout the area.

The incident occurring in Danmusa Local Government Area instilled fear and disrupted prayers at numerous mosques.

We were at the Friday prayer when we heard gunshots and everyone started running. We couldn’t continue our prayers after that.

The source also requested additional security personnel, stating, “We require reinforcements because the bandits are currently causing significant trouble in our communities.”

For more than a week, the attackers have been targeting farmers in Dan-Ali and surrounding areas like Gwarjo, Dangane, Tudun, Tasha Kadanya, and Tasha Biri. “Many farmers have been kidnapped,” the source mentioned, “and we are all frightened to enter our farms.”

Attempts to contact the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, for comments were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
