World Leaders Extend Congratulations to Trump on Election Victory

Leaders from Hungary, Israel, France, India, and various other nations have swiftly extended their congratulations to Republican candidate Donald Trump following his victory in the 2024 United States presidential election.
On Wednesday, Trump announced his triumph over Democratic opponent Kamala Harris after achieving significant victories in crucial battleground states. He proclaimed that his upcoming presidency would represent “the golden age of America.”
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was among the first to commend Trump, referring to his victory as “the biggest comeback in US political history.” With this win, Trump will become only the second president in US history to serve non-consecutive terms, following Grover Cleveland in the late 19th century.
Orban characterized the election results as “a much-needed victory for the world” in a post on X.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed Trump’s victory as “history’s greatest comeback.” He expressed that Trump’s return to the White House signifies a fresh start for America and a robust reaffirmation of the strong alliance between Israel and the United States, assuring Trump of his “true friendship” in a message on X.
French President Emmanuel Macron conveyed his willingness to collaborate with Trump “with respect and ambition… for more peace and prosperity,” reminiscent of their partnership during Trump’s first term from 2017 to 2021.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky remarked on X that following Trump’s “impressive election victory,” he anticipates “an era of a strong US under… decisive leadership.” He expressed appreciation for Trump’s commitment to the “peace through strength” strategy in international relations, which he believes can facilitate a just peace in Ukraine.
Zelensky also voiced hope that bipartisan support for Ukraine amid its conflict with Russia will persist throughout Trump’s presidency.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated his “friend” Trump on his achievement, expressing his readiness to renew cooperation to enhance the “strategic partnership.”
