In a tense third-round match of the 2026 World Cup qualifier on Friday in Uyo, the Super Eagles of Nigeria faced off against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, resulting in a 1-1 draw.

Led by captain Wilfred Ndidi, Nigeria’s starting lineup included Nwabali in goal, with Ajayi, Bassey, Tanimu, and Osayi-Samuel forming the defensive line.

The midfield trio consisted of Dele-Bashiru, Iwobi, and Ndidi, while the attacking trio featured Iheanacho, Lookman, and Onuachu.

Following this outcome, Nigeria currently sits in fifth place out of six teams in the standings, having drawn all three of their matches in the ongoing 10-match competition.
