A woman is arrested for allegedly killing her husband with an axe after accusing their daughter of stealing a goat. Read the full story here.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer Nahum Kenneth, Borno State Commissioner of Police Yusufu Lawal stated that a disagreement over their daughter Rachael’s supposed theft of a goat was the cause behind the violent assault resulting in her death.
It was reported that the attack inflicted such a severe blow on Lydia’s husband, causing his instant death.

Lawal described the occurrence, stating that on July 4, 2024, Bulama Mulikabu from Kautikari village in Chibok Local Government Area visited Chibok police station to report an incident. According to his account, Lydia Aji and her spouse Aji Makinta engaged in a brutal argument wherein she struck him with an axe on the head leading to his instant death.
According to Lawal, the disagreement ensued when Aji Makinta found out that their daughter had taken and sold a goat. As a result of this discovery, he insisted Lydia and their daughter vacate his residence.
Officials are conducting an ongoing investigation in order to unravel additional information about the unfortunate occurrence.
