Woman Arrested for Allegedly Beating Husband to Death Over Salary Argument

Memory Choga, a 41-year-old woman from Sadza in Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe has been arrested on suspicion of killing her husband Douglas Jeche. The victim was a well-regarded teacher at the local primary school and his death is causing great distress to the community.

Douglas revealed the incident after he had moved his payment from his bank account to his mobile wallet without notifying Memory.

Upon discovering that some of the funds were missing, she became highly angry. According to a neighbor’s testimony, “She was livid when she discovered her money wasn’t in the bank.”

When Douglas arrived home empty-handed, Memory’s fury intensified. She reportedly used a log to assault him in a brutal manner that left him with serious wounds.

According to an eyewitness account, the attack was “unprovoked and savage.” Regrettably, Douglas died from his injuries.

Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the spokesperson for the national police has verified that Memory Choga was detained on July 19th, 2024 due to her involvement in killing her husband at Jeche Primary School located in Sadza.

Her spouse had suffered from several injuries resulting from an attack with a log which took place during a disagreement over his salary being transferred into his EcoCash account and subsequently passed away as a result of those wounds.

Memory Choga is presently detained by the police while they conduct an inquiry into her husband’s demise. Officials are gathering information to comprehensively comprehend the circumstances that resulted in this unfortunate occurrence.

As the legal proceedings progress, Commissioner Paul Nyathi provided reassurance to the public that “Justice will be served.” Meanwhile, Douglas Jeche’s unexpected and devastating murder has left his community grieving for their cherished educator while attempting to grapple with such a shocking tragedy.
