Wike Warns Protest Planners: Fulfill All Conditions

Wike’s warning to protest planners: ensure all conditions are fulfilled to avoid facing strict consequences.

In preparation for scheduled nationwide protests, Barrister Ezenwo Nezam Wike, the FCT Minister, conducted a collaborative town hall gathering with citizens on Saturday as an integral part of promoting harmony in the Federal Capital Territory.

The Minister spoke to the residents at the meeting and emphasized that it was arranged to facilitate discourse with different stakeholders. Its purpose was to encourage them not to resort on protesting in public but instead have an opportunity for airing their grievances.

According to the Minister, protests do not offer any solutions but instead provide an opening for troublemakers to incite chaos.

He cautioned residents not to align with faceless protesters and warned that the FCT Administration won’t condone protests aimed at overthrowing the government or causing destruction.

The Minister recognized that the people of FCT have a constitutional privilege to demonstrate, but emphasized their responsibility to adhere to lawful boundaries during said demonstrations.
