Wike remembered how some PDP members went to neighboring states after the flooding in 2022 to show their support, but they didn’t go to Rivers.
A day after pledging to retaliate against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee for assuming control of the cases brought by the party’s state chapter, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has called for a protest vote against the party at the federal level.
Wike gave a speech during the Ahoada West Local Government Area’s state PDP campaign. In order to “pepper” the National Secretariat for abandoning them after the flooding that decimated the local government regions in the oil-rich state in 2022, he urged the populace to use their permanent voter cards (PVCs).

Wike said that some PDP members didn’t show their sympathy for the people of Rivers when they went to other states to do so.
The governor went on to say that in the February and March elections, people should only vote for the state PDP flag bearers for governor and the National and State Assembly.
“You had a serious flooding issue. Did somebody from our party’s national secretariat pay you a visit? However, they traveled to other states. We’ll be attracted to those who love us and repel those who do not.
“We’ll pepper them with our might.”
The governorship, senatorial, house of representatives, and house of assembly candidates are the only ones up for election, he said.
Wike also told the people of Ahoada West to get people to vote from all units and follow the state leadership of the PDP, especially since ballot boxes are unlikely to be stolen in this year’s elections.
