The Grand Service Star of Rivers State, the highest state honour, will be awarded to seventeen people (GSSRS).
The PDP G5 Governors, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, are among the seventeen (17) people.
Jonah Jang of the Plateau, Donald Duke of Cross River, Ayo Fayose of Ekiti, Ibrahim Idris of Kogi, Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo, Theodore Orji of Abia, Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe, Adams Oshiomhole of Edo, and a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party named Olabode George from Lagos State are also included in the category for the highest honour.
One hundred and ten (110) people will receive the second-highest State Honor. They include Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, the wife of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State; Tamunominini Makinde, the wife of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; Onari Donald-Duke, the wife of former Governor Donald Duke of Cross River; Abubakar Malami (SAN), the Attorney General of the Federation; and Justice Simeon Amadi, the Chief Judge of Rivers State.
Thirty-three (33) individuals are up for the Governor’s Medal of Service in the area of awards (GMS). They include Rivers United’s Coach Stanley Eguma in addition to Fatai Oscho, Ndubisi Nduk, Joseph Buma, and Okey Inwenya.
Two people have been shortlisted to receive the Rivers State Merit Award in the second award category (RSMA).
They are Mrs. Patience Nwogu and Mr. Oruwuru Pere Shedrack, a volunteer traffic warden.
Distinguished for “her exceptional sense of sacrifice, discipline, and honest dedication to work” is Patience, a junior school teacher.
