The governor of Rivers dared Ayu to suspend the G5 governors and test his mettle in the face of the consequences.

Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, called the party’s Iyorchia Ayu-led National Working Committee (NWC) decision to dissolve the PDP’s Ekiti State executive committee an act of tyranny that will be fought in court.

The governor warned that the NWC’s use of tyranny won’t help the PDP in the upcoming general elections and dared the PDP national chairman, Ayu, to get rid of him or any of the G5 governors.

This was said by the governor of Rivers on Saturday during the State PDP Campaign Council’s campaign flag-off event in Bori, Khana Local Government Area.

Wike added that there are still PDP members who believe in the rule of law and that the party should uphold its constitution, which is why the dissolution of the Ekiti State working committee will be contested in court.

“Let me also take this chance to tell Iyorchia Ayu and his group that dissolving the Ekiti State Exco will not in any way benefit them.” You won’t get any aid from suspending people. The entire battle line has been established. “We will take every legal action at our disposal to contest any decision that we know to be unlawful as I talk to you,” he said.

He emphasised that the PDP will suffer further losses in the upcoming elections of 2023 if the Ayu-led NWC resorts to dictatorship.

Don’t assume that saying something like that will intimidate others; instead, people have been suspended. Rubbish! Absolutely garbage. We are above the point where you feel like you can use whatever criminal action you have taken to intimidate or threaten anyone.

“So, please announce both mine and any other friends’ names. As I previously stated, will a man sleep if he says you won’t? Ayu will sleep? Will his accomplices sleep? So don’t be concerned; we can repay you. We are capable of letting you know when enough is enough.

In order to build on the successes of his government, Wike urged the Khana electorate to support Siminialayi Fubara, the PDP’s candidate for governor, as well as all national and legislative candidates in the general election of 2023.
