Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, said that Peter Obi, the leader of the Labour Party, defected from the major opposition group because Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike was constantly insulting him.
On Wednesday in Abuja, Atiku addressed through his special assistant for public communications, Phrank Shaibu, who also said it was terrible that Wike had been able to trick his G-5 colleagues into rejecting the PDP and committing “political suicide”.
He said that Wike tricked the governors of Benue, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia into supporting him in his deeds.
Atiku was cautioned to “caution his attack dogs” in a statement by the Rivers State Government, to which Shaibu responded.
Shaibu said, “As governor, he [Wike] routinely undermined his colleagues, particularly Governors Ben Ayade, Dave Umahi, and Godwin Obaseki. Eventually, Ayade and Umahi left in frustration.

Even Peter Obi quit because of Wike’s frequent insults after the two fought over the PDP’s organisational structure in Anambra State.
“In his most recent act of desperation, he tricked four of his fellow governors into rejecting the PDP, thereby driving them to commit political death.”
“Governor Wike’s assertion that he opposed Atiku for the purpose of justice is like a prostitute claiming to be in business to feed the needy,” he said.
