The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has pledged to expel Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate, Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP’s national chairman, and several other party figures from the PDP.
At the launching of a road project in Rivers State’s Ikwerre Local Government Area on Thursday, Governor Wike made the commitment.
Wike attributed the PDP’s defeat in the recently held presidential election to those who, in his opinion, disobeyed the PDP Constitution. He pledged to eject them from the gathering and begin the party’s reconstruction.
As the “second phase of the battle,” the governor referred to the action.
He claimed: “These people left our party in 2014-2015, when our party lost; they returned, and our party lost once more.

Our party was ruined by them. They will be driven from our party by us. They don’t participate in our celebration in any way.
Wike also criticised the PDP leadership for allegedly refusing to abide by the party’s constitution while blaming the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission of breaking election rules.
He continued to make fun of the PDP leaders for organising the demonstration against INEC by referring to them as “student unions.”
