Governor Sim Fubara has been connected by former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike to the recent fire that destroyed the Rivers State of Assembly Complex.
Remember that a few weeks ago, there was an arson attack on the state assembly’s sacred chambers?
During a Friday media chat, Wike—who is currently the minister for the Federal Capital Territory—made hints that Fubara might be related to the assembly fire after some MPs plotted to have him impeached.

Did you call me to tell me that they wanted to impeach you, sir, when they were talking about doing so?
Is it the reason you dispatched individuals to set fire to the sacred chamber? Is this a one-day impeachment?
“Is it a one-day process to impeach someone? You then brought up ethnic politics. It’s never been like this before, according to Wike.
Remember how some legislators in the Rivers State House of Assembly started the impeachment process against Governor Fubara as a result of a dispute among themselves?
The State House of Assembly’s leader, Edison Ehie, was ousted as majority leader when it was found that he had not committed any crimes that would have made him subject to impeachment.
But after Governor Fubara fiercely defended his jurisdiction over state affairs, Edison was elected Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
