Nyesom Wike sheds light on his motivation for taking on the FCT ministerial role under President Tinubu, stressing that his focus is on impactful governance, not land sales.

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, reiterated that his role as minister is not to sell lands in Abuja.

Wike stated that his sole reason for becoming a minister in the All Progressives Congress (APC) government was to support Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The Minister made this statement on Tuesday during the commencement ceremony for the construction of the 15.4-kilometer Pai-Gomani road project in Kwali Area Council.

Wike stated that under President Ahmed Tinubu’s government, everyone will have the opportunity to benefit from and engage in the advantages of democracy.

Continuing, the Minister stated, “This is what I have informed our people. The President has assured you: please be patient and give me time; I will address everyone’s concerns.”

All Area Councils should experience the influence of President and Commander in Chief, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government.

I want to make it absolutely clear for everyone: I did not assume the role of Minister to engage in selling land. My intention is to assist Mr. President in enhancing the infrastructure of the FCT. That’s why our focus, day in and day out, remains steadfast on improving infrastructure—whether it’s within urban areas or rural regions.

No matter if you’re in the PDP, APC, or don’t support any political party at all, you will still need to use this road.

“This road is really important. Regardless of the distance, we will regularly visit to ensure that the contractor is fulfilling their responsibilities.”
