Wike mocks Atiku for Obasanjo’s endorsement of Obi for president
The endorsement of Peter Obi of the Labour Party by former President Olusegun Obasanjo has led Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike to make fun of Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential nominee.
The governor said that Obasanjo’s decision not to back Atiku showed that Atiku, who was Obasanjo’s vice president from 1999 to 2003, has a lot of problems.
The governor thought it was funny that the man who built the same legacy that Atiku was running on didn’t back him but instead backed Obi.
He was speaking on Monday at the beginning of a road project in the state’s Emohua Local Government Area.

“If you are a poor product, you are a poor product, and if you are a good product, you are a good product,” remarked Wike.
“You worked for someone, and that person suggested another person to Nigerians; is that person me?”
“I worked with someone for eight years, and we’re using it as a campaign to say that we performed well when we were in office. However, my manager is now suggesting another person take their place, so clearly something is very wrong.
“I was hoping Obasanjo wouldn’t say anything, so I was touched to see the letter last night.
If your principal does not endorse you, there is clearly a serious problem.
