Wike: Fubara Declares: No Kidney or Liver Donation for Loyalty
Fubara firmly states that he won’t donate his kidney or liver to prove loyalty, sparking discussions on loyalty and sacrifice.
Amidst the ongoing political turmoil in Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has adopted a firm position, declaring that his allegiance to any person or group will not override his personal principles or well-being.
Governor Fubara, renowned for his integrity, emphasized that his unwavering commitment to doing what is right remains steadfast regardless of the challenges he may face.
He made it clear that his commitment to upholding his values will not waver, even if he has to stand alone.
In a powerful declaration, Fubara stressed that loyalty should not be confused with self-sacrifice. “I will not give my kidney or liver to anybody,” he stated emphatically, underscoring his point about the true meaning of allegiance.
He stated, “In fact, I subscribe to that school of thought. Even if I’m the only one standing on the side of what is right, I’ll stand there alone. I don’t need anyone else with me. And no, I wouldn’t give my kidney or liver to anyone.”

Governor Fubara made this statement during the Inter-denominational Church Thanksgiving Service celebrating Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day. The event was held at St. Paul’s Cathedral of the Anglican Communion, located at Garrison Junction in Port Harcourt, on Sunday.
“They even claim they don’t know what we’re doing. Let me remind them that it was Fubara who signed the agreement to borrow N200 billion from Zenith Bank for the construction of the Port Harcourt Ring Road, making this my project. It is also Fubara who awarded the contract for the Trans-Kalabari Road, which they failed to complete; they only managed a bridge from Krakrama. I am overseeing its full completion at a cost of N225 billion—and I haven’t borrowed any money.”
“Fubara is the one constructing a General Hospital, and I also included a Psychiatric Hospital because it will be needed soon. Tell them that what I’ve accomplished in one year took them eight years to do. It’s only an empty vessel that makes noise. When God grants you an opportunity, humbly enjoy your success without boasting. May God continue to grant us the strength to serve our people fearlessly and effectively.”
Soon, you will witness our actions. Our focus is not on constructing roads that benefit specific businesses; I have no personal business interests. Everything we do aims to serve the people of Rivers State. We stand by decisions that are justifiable and reject anything potentially dishonorable for our state. The well-being of this state matters deeply to us—it’s all we have.
“It is their beautiful pride, which explains why they are struggling. The improvements we’ve made in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) have also played a role in this struggle—we’re aware of that. But please, approach it with modesty; there’s no need to tear down the house.” he said.
