Wike forbids street trading, alleging that criminals in Abuja are exploiting maize vendors as cover

Street trade is not permitted anywhere in the federal capital, according to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

According to Wike, maize vendors act as sources for criminals.

He addressed as the management teams of the Federal Capital Territory Administration and the Federal Capital Development Authority were present at a meeting.

Street trading is forbidden, according to Wike. Insecurity is brought on by things like maize vendors who carelessly discard their trash.

“Criminals come to buy, take advantage of the opportunity to spy, and provide information to other criminals. We must remove the street vendors immediately.

“Development control is a major crisis that needs to be stopped. Why are shanties and illegal buildings so prevalent? Any unauthorised structures will be destroyed. The building will collapse no matter how high it is positioned.
