Nyesom Wike, former Rivers State Governor, asserts confidence in his political decisions, dismissing fears of defecting to the APC.

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stated that he has no reservations about joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) if he chooses to do so.

Wike expressed his reasons for not backing the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar, who represented the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), during the 2023 presidential election.

He stated that the PDP lacked equity and fairness, which was why he chose not to support Atiku.

“The President is aware. I’ve never spoken to the President at any time to say, ‘I’ll join APC.’ I have not expressed this intention to anyone, and no one should assume that I’m hesitant or unable to join APC if that’s what I choose.”

“Who is that person in the PDP whom I should be afraid of?”
