While expressing his great gratitude for the public’ well wishes and support, he stated that “the Minister kindly, but strongly requests that such billboards and advertisements be discontinued forthwith.”

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has urged people to immediately stop posting billboards on lampposts, large-scale billboards, and other similar signs congratulating him on his new position.

Anthony Ogunleye, the Office of the FCT Minister’s Director of Press, announced this in a statement on Sunday.

While expressing his great gratitude for the public’ well wishes and support, he stated that “the Minister kindly, but strongly requests that such billboards and advertisements be discontinued forthwith.”

According to the statement, “the Hon. Minister acknowledges the tremendous outpouring of goodwill from the residents of the Federal Capital Territory and beyond, understands the sentiment behind these congratulatory displays, and is sincerely touched by the show of support.”

However, the Minister wishes to devote all of his time to helping His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, realise his vision and the Renewed Hope agenda for Nigeria, “in the spirit of public service and commitment to his responsibilities.”

Wike’s primary responsibility as the FCT Minister, according to Ogunleye, is to support the growth and development of the FCT, as well as the welfare of its citizens and the country at large.

He claims that the Minister values the hopes and expectations of FCT citizens and is committed to carrying out his duties with the utmost sincerity and dedication.

He thinks the best way to accomplish this is to focus all of one’s energy on the current assignment and work together with other public workers to provide the best possible service to the nation.

“Chief E.N. Wike earnestly hopes that the general people would recognise his viewpoint and continue to offer support and cooperation.

“He looks forward to working hand in hand with all stakeholders to build a stronger, more prosperous, and united FCT and Nigeria,” the statement continued.
