Wike assures CDS of assistance in addressing insecurity
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has expressed his commitment to assisting the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, in addressing the security challenges in the country.

During a courtesy visit by the CDS in Abuja, Wike commended the Nigerian military for their relentless efforts in ensuring the safety of Nigeria.
He assured Musa of the FCT Administration’s support in various forms to enhance the security situation and protect the nation’s territorial integrity.
Wike emphasized that the FCT is ready to provide any necessary support requested by the military.
He also highlighted that the 2024 FCT Statutory Budget, which has been passed by the National Assembly, includes provisions for the procurement of drones to aid security agencies in combating insecurity, particularly in the FCT.
Additionally, the minister revealed plans to establish an FCT Rapid Response Centre, managed jointly by the military, police, Department of State Services, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
This center will be equipped with advanced technology to bolster the fight against insecurity. Wike expressed his condolences to the families of the Nigerian military personnel who lost their lives in the recent incident in Delta, describing it as barbaric.
He pledged the support of the FCT in alleviating the pain and suffering of the affected families.
