The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has instructed the state House of Assembly to immediately initiate the impeachment process against the state Governor, Siminialayi Fubara.
This directive was announced on Tuesday by the Rivers caretaker committee, CTC, of the party, led by Tony Okocha, in Port Harcourt.
It is worth noting that the governor had criticized the Assembly, led by Martin Amaewhule, on Sunday, stating that the lawmakers no longer hold the status of legislators in the eyes of the law.

Fubara also mentioned that he had accepted the peace agreement proposed by President Bola Tinubu, in order to restore peace following the political crisis that occurred in the state last year.
The Governor acknowledged that his disagreements with his former political mentor, Nyesom Wike, had prompted him to attend reconciliation meetings.
In response to the governor’s remarks, the Rivers State APC caretaker committee has called for measures to remove the governor from office.
