“I have been married since I was sixteen years old, and I have never dated another man before.
I have been having problems with him for the past two years because he got a girlfriend outside of our marriage.
She declared, “I want a divorce in the interest of justice because he has not been acting like a man and I am tired of the situation and his attitude.”
Jalija said that the petitioner’s claim that he had no girlfriend was untrue.
He claimed, “I married another woman and I am doing great as a man. We were married in her village, and she has one child for me.”
He stated that he had been playing his part to the petitioner as a real man.
However, the petitioner disputed her husband’s assertion, claiming that the relevant woman was actually his girlfriend.
She claimed to have been unaware that her husband had wed the woman.
Malam Saminu Suleiman, the judge, ordered the couple a week to resolve their differences amicably before postponing the case to January 17 in order to gather feedback.
