Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s special adviser on special duty and strategy, Doyin Odebowale, claims that because of accommodations issues, his principle is not working from the state’s capital, Akure.

Since his return from a medical vacation overseas, Akeredolu has been away from the state. The Ondo leader is currently working from Ibadan, Oyo State, but the move has generated commotion in the state, with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youths giving the governor an ultimatum on Monday to return.

To manage the business of the South-West state, however, Governor Akeredolu needs a better flat, according to Odebowale, who said as much on Tuesday’s episode of Politics Today on Channels Television.

“In September, Aketi returned. He stated on the show that the Presidential Lodge, which was constructed for the visiting president at the time, Olusegun Obasanjo, is a two-bedroom flat.

“So, for the past six years, the governor has been overseeing a two-bedroom flat. But he couldn’t pretend everything was OK given his current condition of health. He would require everything for a complete recovery. Because of this, the new home that is being prepared for him is almost finished.

He said that administration has been running successfully despite Akeredolu not being physically present in Ondo State, and he questioned why detractors wanted his principal back in the state.
