Atiku Abubakar, the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, has appealed for support from the South-East, claiming that he has the region’s best chance of winning the presidency.

On Thursday, he made the remark to party supporters during a rally in Awka, the capital of Anambra State.

“I’ll serve as a springboard for an Igbo president in this nation. As I am running with an Igbo man for the third time, I have demonstrated this by my actions. “Vote for the Atiku-Okowa ticket if you truly want to produce a president,” the former vice president advised the audience.

“I want to thank the people of Anambra State for this warm welcome. I never expected to see such a gathering in Anambra State. And trust me, we won’t forget you; we’ll pay you back handsomely.”

Atiku also promised to rebuild the local economy by dredging the River Niger to get more business going.

He said, “I know you are going to work, but make sure that all the federal roads that run through Anambra State are renovated.” On our arrival today, we visited their Governor, Prof. Soludo.

“And I told him I would follow through on my vow to do so.” He said, “Make sure you control our erosion since Anambra is the erosion capital of the world.” Our homes, our farmlands, and all we own are all being destroyed by erosion.

“This is a truly enormous project. And I informed him that I would follow through on my pledge. As you are aware, I have previously worked with Soludo, a first-rate Nigerian nationalist.

“Your governor is amazing. He also pleaded with me regarding the Onisha Port, and I responded that this time, we would dredge the River Niger so that the Onisha Port would operate.

“We are also going to assist Anambra in industrializing the state so that it can offer as many jobs as possible to our young people.”

And as you are aware, I pledged to allocate $10 billion to support small and medium-sized businesses so that our young men and women may become independent.

Ifeanyi Okowa, Atiku’s running partner, who joined him at the gathering, asserted that the PDP leader is the best choice for Nigeria.

The governor of Delta State declared that Atiku Abubakar was his party’s presidential candidate.

“Because Atiku Abubakar is a quality product, we want all of you to work hard in Anambra State.” Only Atiku Abubakar, out of all the candidates, possesses the necessary expertise to free the nation from the suffering brought on by the APC administration.
