Doyin Okupe, Peter Obi’s chief campaigner, has clarified his recent outing with Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State. Peter Obi was the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in last month’s election.
One of the 11 governors running for reelection on Saturday is Abiodun, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Okupe, the Director-General of Obi’s Campaign, and Abiodun may be seen stepping off a flight in a video that has been making the rounds on social media.

This shocked many people on social media, since some Obi supporters said that Okupe supported the APC’s Bola Tinubu during the election, while others claimed that he left Obi after the vote.
In response, Okupe claimed that they were blood relatives and that the governor was his cousin. He claimed to have relatives and friends in both parties.
My relative is Governor Dapo Abiodun. a relative through blood. He and his wife were at my place two days ago, but I was in Lagos at the time. This evening, I contacted him when he got home to thank him for coming. Then he asked me to host some investors at the brand-new airport in Iperu, our hometown. I was excited to travel, he tweeted.
