Why I declined to play at Tinubu’s event for fresh hope – Portable
Controversial Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage name Portable, a Nigerian artist, has explained why he declined to take the stage at Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Concert on Thursday in Abuja.
In popular videos shared on social media on Friday, Portable disclosed that the Tinubu inauguration event organizers gave him N5 million instead of the N10 million he was paid for his performance.
The Zazuu singer captioned footage he posted on Instagram with, “ZAzuu Them Dn Rip Me Ohh Na Me Sing Akoi TINUBU. Ibu Eja Loni. Give ZAZUU what is rightfully theirs.”
“Na me sing Tinubu Akoi o. No one is voting for Obi? When Tinubu entered the room, those worthless individuals walked to the show; should I not be promoting Tinubu?
“They referred to my boss by that name. that they want me to do a performance in Abuja. And while I received a 10 million dollar payment, I only received $5 million. I didn’t agree, tore the page, and crossed out the number because of this. You’re complaining, Jesus? Na hin, don’t make me perform in front of Abuja.
Tinubu and his vice, Kashim Shettima, both attended the event, which included performances by a variety of performers, including Wande Coal, KCee, and others.
