Nigerian musician Jaywon has opened up about why he felt the need to apologize to fellow artist Ayra Starr. The apology follows an earlier incident between the two, with Jaywon addressing the matter in a recent interview.

Renowned Nigerian singer Oluwajuwonlo Iledare, popularly known as Jaywon, has shared the reason behind his apology to fellow artist Onyinkansola Aderigbigbe, widely recognized as Ayra Starr. This followed accusations that he mocked her for not securing a Grammy nomination.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Jaywon explained his motives by stating, “I thought it was necessary to address the situation. I apologized to clear up any misunderstandings and to show support for her talent. The music industry can be competitive at times, but I believe in uplifting each other. Fans can sometimes have their own interpretations. Ultimately, collaboration and respect should take precedence over rivalry in our industry. We all have unique paths, and it’s crucial that we celebrate one another’s achievements.”

When questioned about the lasting impact of his Evergreen album on fans, Jaywon explained, “I think the album’s charm lies in its timeless themes of love, resilience, and personal growth. These are universal emotions and experiences that resonate with people at various stages in their lives. The melodies and lyrics also strike a chord with listeners, making it an enduring favorite.”

Jaywon advised young artists on handling success and fame by saying, “Remain authentic to your vision. While the journey can be overwhelming, always remember why you began creating music. Embrace both the highs and lows as integral parts of this path. Surround yourself with a supportive team and dedicate time to honing your craft. Avoid getting lost in industry noise; prioritize your mental health and well-being.”
