Why did we quickly bury? Mohbad, the father

Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, was buried the following day after passing away on September 12 at the age of 27. Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has given an explanation of the hasty burial.

Aloba explained that Yoruba culture forbade delaying the burial of a deceased person when both parents are still living in a recent interview that Temilola Sobola (@TemilolaSobola) uploaded on Instagram on Tuesday.

He pondered the possibility of preserving Mohbad’s remains in a mortuary at a later period if he had died at an older age.

Aloba also disclosed that Mohbad owned the land where his son was buried and that he had donated it to him so that he could construct a church. He clarified that the choice to bury him quickly was made in accordance with Yoruba customs.

When both of his parents are still living, “his corpse is not the kind to be kept in Yoruba land,” the man declared.

“That acreage where Mohbad was buried is the only place I know he ever owned.

Since we had both decided to build the church there and since that was the only place I knew he owned, he genuinely handed me the ground on which to erect my church.

Naira Marley’s record label Marlian Music once signed Mohbad, who quit the company in February 2022.
