The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, emphasized the importance of churches not neglecting politicians after they have completed their terms in office. He commended the armed forces for their efforts in finding innocent hostages and tracking down the terrorists responsible for these crimes.
Wike assured that these efforts would continue until all hostages are found and the terrorists are brought to justice. He also mentioned that troops are working diligently to apprehend the culprits behind the killings of 18 soldiers in Okuama community in Delta State.
Wike urged the clergy to practice what they preach and to always pray for the political class, emphasizing that the church should not abandon people once they are out of office. He expressed his disappointment that after leaving office, the support from the church diminished.
Wike concluded by stating that the church should always be there for politicians, praying for them and not changing their stance.
The Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abass, also praised Kingsley Ogundu Chinda, the House of Representatives Minority Leader, for his contributions to the lower chamber, describing him as one of the best products in the National Assembly.
