After his detention by the police, Isaac Bristol, the purported whistleblower behind the PIDOMNigeria account on X (previously Twitter), was granted bail by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Bristol’s bail of N5 million with a single surety of the same amount was approved by Judge Emeka Nwite.
The decision was made following the submission of a notice motion by Bristol’s legal team lead by Deji Adeyanju.
Justice Nwite ruled that the surety had to live in Abuja and that the defendant had to turn in his passport to the court.

In addition, an affidavit of means, two passport-sized photos, and proof of three years of tax clearance must be submitted by the surety.
Since September 11, Bristol has been detained at the Kuje Correctional Center.
Along with creating false accusations of money laundering against President Bola Tinubu, organizing support for the #EndBadGovernance protests, and illegally handling confidential government papers in violation of the Official Secrets Act of 1962, he is facing charges of treason.
