Veteran Nollywood performer Chinedu Ikedieze, called Aki, has spoken candidly about the difficulties he encountered as a child as a result of his diagnosis of stunted growth.
The actor claimed that after hearing his doctor tell his mother about his problem, he felt distressed and considered suicide because other kids were taunting him because he wasn’t developing normally.
He revealed this in a recent interview with well-known media figure Chude Jideonwo.
Ikedieze claims: “When I was nine years and six months old, something happened. I recall the doctor telling my mother, “Madam, what he has is stunted growth.”
“At that point, I began to hear the terms stunted and delayed growth. I sobbed countless times because I experienced bullying at school and even at home because I wasn’t developing normally. When things got really terrible, I considered quitting everything. Thank God I don’t grow for Lagos because the Third Mainland Bridge is not close by [laughs].
He expressed gratitude to his mother for supporting him through those trying times.
Ikedieze continued, “There was this spark there from the first time I met Osita Iheme, aka Pawpaw.
