In the course of the past week, President Muhammadu Buhari traveled to Saudi Arabia on an official and spiritual mission to express gratitude to Almighty Allah as he gets ready to pass over the reins of power to President-elect Bola Tinubu on May 29.
Tuesday saw President Buhari leave Nigeria for an official trip to Saudi Arabia that will go from April 11 to April 19.
The trip will be Buhari’s final visit to the Kingdom while serving as president, according to a previous remark made in Abuja by Garba Shehu, the President’s spokeswoman.
Speaking to reporters about the significance of the President’s journey, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Pantami, and the President’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, said Buhari was in the Holy Land to give thanks to Almighty Allah for his successful eight years of service to his nation.
The president, who was joined by his advisors, began his engagement in the Holy City by traveling to Madinah, where he visited a number of important religious sites, including the International Fair and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization.
The president stated while he was at the museum that “the spread of true knowledge of the Islamic religion is the most important task now facing global Muslims.”
He applauded the Saudi government for using cutting-edge technology to communicate the essence of Islam, its noble goals, and its superior teachings.
The President claims that the Muslim community needs a futuristic system that will put information and education into a new system that will allow for a clear understanding of the fundamental tenets of the faith.
Before leaving for Makkah via Jeddah in the late hours of Wednesday for the shorter pilgrimage, Mr. Buhari observed the five daily prayers as well as the Taraweeh prayer at the Masjid Nabawi.
When the president arrived at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, he successfully completed the Umrah procedures with the assistance of his advisors, certain traditional rulers, and religious leaders.
On April 11, the president congratulated prominent businessman and philanthropist Aliko Dangote on his 66th birthday and sent him best wishes for a long and healthy life as well as a happy new year.
“Warmest birthday greetings and congratulations to renowned industrialist Aliko Dangote.
“He has raised Nigeria’s stature and international reputation to new heights.
“May the Almighty give him the strength and wisdom to do even more for the nation,” he prayed.
Aminu Dantata, the patriarch of the Dantata family, was visited by President Buhari on Friday in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to offer his condolences for the passing of his wife, Rabi Dantata.
According to NAN, the Kano-based businessman lost his wife, Hajiya Rabi Dantata, on April 9 at a Saudi Arabian hospital.
Malam Garba Shehu, the president’s spokesman, had earlier expressed condolences at Rabi’s passing in a statement.
However, the Nigerian president took advantage of the chance to pay the Dantata family another condolence call following Rabi Dantata’s passing.
The president claimed that the deceased would be remembered for her eminent altruism and kindness.
