The Peoples Democratic Party shouldn’t scare All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Rivers state, according to former transportation minister Rotimi Amaechi (PDP).

Amaechi was cited as having said this on Wednesday when touring wards in the Port Harcourt city LGA in a statement circulated by his media office.

In order to win the governorship race in the state, the former governor of Rivers advised APC members not to be scared to canvass for votes.

“Please don’t let the PDP frighten you.
I’ve heard that they were circling to prevent you from congregating,” he continued.

They can’t stop you, you must not let them.
They are worried since there is no longer any writing of outcomes and can only purchase those without characters.

“You can tell a governor is scared when you see him screaming and shaking.
If you look at the ANAP Foundation poll conducted by Atedo Peterside, it shows that 37% of Rivers residents are unsure, which suggests they dislike the PDP and are waiting for the APC.

Therefore, I ask that you go out and rally their support for you to win the election.
If we succeed, we will empower our people and award scholarships.

The former minister claimed that due to the party’s poor performance, PDP cannot win elections in Rivers.

“Today, we must all go out and mobilize for victory.
Your current state of poverty under the PDP administration would lessen if we win.
Remember that my administration built elementary schools and provided free education for eight continuous years,” he remarked.

“We took that action because we wanted our parents to spend their money on more worthwhile endeavors.
The same thing was done in the health sector; free healthcare was offered, a dental facility was erected, and five silent flyovers were constructed.

“We created the Agip flyover, the Eleme flyover, the Eliozu flyover, the Woji flyover, the Obiri/Ikwerre junction, and we built them based on traffic statistics.

“We came to the realization that creating free schools was more crucial than creating law schools for the federal government. I respect both the young and the old because I knew that one day I would leave office. I did not leave government intending to purchase the entire state, I did not buy people’s property, I did not confiscate people’s property, I did not mistreat anybody, and I did not tell lies about anyone.

“I developed the banana farm, the Songhai farm, and I revived Risonpalm,” the speaker said.
