Kamal Iliyasu, who was better known by his stage name Kamal Aboki, was a well-known Hausa comedian. He died in a car accident.
On Monday, the comedian was travelling from Borno State to Kano State when he was killed in a terrible car accident.
After his Hausa-themed sketches were posted online, Kamal Aboki became a TikTok superstar and a huge internet hit.
Usman, the older brother of the person who died, is said to have told BBC Hausa that their mother had a feeling that Kamal would meet a terrible end on Monday.
He said that the comedian died in a terrible car accident on the way back to Kano from Maiduguri, where he had been three days earlier for an album launch.

“On Monday, my mother instructed me to phone Kamal at around 5 o’clock, and he informed me that he was already travelling to Kano in a car.
“My mom then began to experience something. Later, when someone contacted me to enquire if I knew of anyone travelling from Maiduguri to Kano, I replied in the affirmative. At that point, the caller informed me of what had occurred.
Usman stated that Kamal’s passing has upset his family and that he will be sorely missed.
