According to the Atiku Media Office, attempts to link former vice president Atiku Abubakar to a forgery issue by the administration and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are a deliberate ploy to diminish the accusations against President Bola Tinubu.
In a statement released on Sunday, Atiku’s media adviser, Paul Ibe, urged Tinubu and his supporters to stop future comparisons between the President and Atiku.
He stated that all of the names Atiku has can be linked back to his family.
Ibe noted: “Contrary to Bola A. Tinubu’s forgery shopping allegation against Atiku, it is on record that the change of name of the former Vice President reverting to Atiku Abubakar from Siddiq Abubakar is well documented in an affidavit dated 18th of August 1973, spanning over a period of 50 years, (which incidentally is as old as the commencement of Tinubu’s life of forgeries and lies), is in the public domain.”

He said that Tinubu had fabricated and exaggerated every part of his life, including his ancestry, name, and birthdate, as well as his schooling, credentials, and employment history.
The disclosure of Tinubu’s records at Chicago State University and the court-ordered deposition in the United States, according to Ibe, are just the top of the iceberg.
In his words, “The attempt by Bola A. Tinubu to drag Atiku Abubakar into his drowning arena of forgery must be seen for what it is: an attempt to minimise the allegations of forgeries that he has to contend with.”
Ibe asserted that it had been proven that Tinubu had lied in order to get admission to the university.
Curiously, handlers of this same Bola A. Tinubu snuck Adekunle, a middle name that appeared on his purported National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate on October 6, 2023, into his Wikipedia entry, the speaker said.
This could be yet another sign of a great forger in action.
