Through inclusive growth, the United Nations Development Programme, or UNDP, has promised to lessen poverty and inequality in Nigeria.
According to OBASANJO NEWS24, Mohammed Yahya, the UNDP representative in Nigeria, revealed this to Atiku Bagudu, the minister of budget and economic planning, during a courtesy call.
Yahya stated that the UNDP will keep assisting Nigeria in overcoming its difficulties.
“Considering that Nigeria is the hub of Africa, inclusive growth is a means of reducing inequality, lowering the rate of poverty, and advancing the national agenda.
“We also support state-level government. Although we have extensive stabilising projects in the North-East and North-West, the peace-building component is our toughest problem because it is new.
Bagudu claimed that President Bola Tinubu was devoted to inclusive growth, which was a component of both Agenda 2050 and the National Development Plan 2021–2025.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, 133 million Nigerians were classified as multidimensionally poor in November of last year, OBASANJO NEWS24 cites.
